Latter-Day Saints Around the World: March 2026 

Blood donations in Peru, and programs in the Philippines seek to support literacy and nutrition

Newsroom features stories from its dozens of Church websites worldwide to show what members and leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are doing to serve their communities. Today, we feature news from Mexico, the Philippines, Taiwan, Peru, Mongolia, and Nigeria. 

Mexico: Donation Improves Homes in Baja

A donation from the Church made on Monday, March 23, 2026, improved the living conditions of 300 children across nine foster homes in Tijuana, Ensenada and Rosarito, Baja California. This was a first-time donation to the nonprofit organization, A Child’s Hope Foundation. 

The Church provided the installation of beds and bunk beds, kitchen ventilation, basic household materials, perimeter fencing, improvements to refrigerator chambers, and roof and patio adaptations.

 Philippines: Interfaith Ramadan Outreach Promotes Unity  

The Church of Jesus Christ joined local faith groups at the Manila Golden Mosque and Cultural Center in Manila, Philippines, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, for a Ramadan outreach that emphasized unity among different religious communities. Bread, donated by the Church, was distributed to members of the local Muslim community.   

“Giving is one of the advocacies of Ramadan,” said Muhammad Erzad Malli, Al-Hajj Administrator of the mosque. “It is one of the commandments of God: to share with others. The prophet says, ‘You give before you receive.’”

Taiwan: Interfaith Service Improves Living Conditions for Elderly

The Church and the China Enthusiastic Development Association worked together on Monday, March 16, 2026, to improve the living conditions of elderly residents in the Sanzhi District of New Taipei City, Taiwan.   

Volunteers repaired uneven road surfaces and improved access around the residents’ homes by installing permeable bricks and cement

 Peru: Blood Donation Campaigns Strengthen Community Health

On Saturday, March 7, and Saturday, March 14, 2026, blood donation campaigns were held, with support from the Church, in Huaraz and Carabayllo, Lima, Peru. The event initiatives aimed to improve access to lifesaving blood for emergencies, surgeries and other medical needs.  

 Volunteers said each donation can help up to three people in need of transfusions.

Mongolia: Donation Improves Education Institutions

With donations and support from the Church of Jesus Christ, the International Charitable Organization, Deseret, donated kitchen appliances to schools in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on Friday, March 13, 2026.

 Nigeria: Donation Enhances Immigration Services 

High-tech equipment, including passport readers, webcams, computers and printers were donated by the Church to the Nigeria Immigration Service in Abuja on Thursday, March 12, 2026. The donation improves traveler processing and supports a more efficient immigration service.    

“We serve God, and we understand the virtues of service to the nation and humanity,” said Elder Isaac K. Morrison, Second Counselor in the Africa West Area Presidency. “We do not do this to be recognized or praised; we do this because the scriptures tell us to do so.”

Philippines: Church Supports Literacy Program in Negros Occidental

The Church of Jesus Christ donated Peer-to-Peer Tutor Kits to teachers and staff at Concepcion Elementary School in Talisay City, Philippines, on Thursday, March 12, 2026.  

The tutor kits include instructional materials designed to help students support one another in building academic skills and reading.

 Mexico: Church Supports Children’s Hospital Technology Upgrade

On Friday, March 6, 2026, the Church donated technology to the Federico Gómez Children’s Hospital of Mexico to strengthen pediatric care, improve data security, and enhance hospital coordination.  

The phased project includes new computers, tablets, updated systems, and staff training to support the hospital’s continued leadership in children’s health.
