Belize: Church Donation Furnishes Classrooms for Thousands of Students
The Church is supporting education in Belize by donating new classroom furniture to 30 public pre-primary and primary schools in the Toledo and Cayo districts, benefiting more than 3,000 students through a collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
“Education opens doors of opportunity,” said Leovany Lopez, a local Church leader. “We are grateful to support the Ministry of Education in its mission to provide children with environments where they can learn, grow and thrive.”

The Church, with the help of the Belize Red Cross, donated more than 500 wheelchairs and mobility devices and provided specialized training for Red Cross staff during a humanitarian project held January 12–16, 2026, in Belize.
Through the initiative, local Red Cross personnel trained to assess, fit, maintain and distribute the equipment nationwide, helping to ensure long-term support for individuals with mobility challenges.

Uruguay: Medical Equipment Donation Improves Care for the Elderly
The Church donated beds, wheelchairs and other essential medical equipment to the Santa Fe de Rivera Philanthropic Society on January 15, 2026, strengthening care for elderly residents in vulnerable situations in Rivera, Uruguay.
“This contribution represents a huge relief for our team and, above all, for the residents who require constant care,” said Rosana Osorio Porto, president of the organization’s board of directors.

South Korea: Donation Supports Independence of People with Disabilities
The Suncheon District of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated 52 household appliances to the Gwangyang Center for Independent Living for the Disabled on January 14, 2026, supporting greater independence for people with severe disabilities in Jeollanam-do, South Korea.
“I am very happy to be able to help people with disabilities in the Gwangyang area,” said Song Doo-hwan, president of the Suncheon District, noting the dedication of those who serve at the center.

South Korea: Busan Stake Serves Neighbors Through New Year Activities
Members of the Church’s Busan Stake marked the start of 2026 by collaborating with local organizations to serve neighbors through food sharing and briquette delivery events across Busan in early January.
On January 1-3, Church members joined community leaders and volunteers to provide rice cake soup and hot tea to around 1,000 citizens and deliver briquettes to families in need, followed by a Samgyetang sharing event on January 11 that offered warm meals and well wishes for the new year.
