Second Annual Pioneer Day Commemoration Set for 21 July

SALT LAKE CITY — This year's Pioneer Day Commemoration will be held in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City on Sunday, 21 July. The event, featuring an address from the Church's First Presidency and a program of music, will begin at 6:00 p.m., MDT.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will perform music reflecting the Church's pioneer heritage.

Free tickets will be available to the general public beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 11 June at the Conference Center ticket office (door 4) on on the Internet at www.lds.org/events. The number of tickets will be limited to four per order.

Admittance to the Conference Center is limited to those 8 years of age and older.

On the day of the program, Conference Center doors will open at 4:30 p.m. Regular ticket holders must be seated by 5:30 p.m., after which standby ticket holders will be offered vacant seats. Those attending the Pioneer Day Commemoration in the Conference Center should remember that cameras, recording devices, backpacks, weapons, food and beverages are not allowed in the building.

The program will be carried to some meetinghouses via the Church satellite system. Members of the Church wishing to view the program via satellite should contact their local leaders for exact broadcast or playback times in their areas.
