Beautiful new art glass has recently been installed in the temple entrance buildings on Temple Square.
The artwork depicts sacred scenes from the life, ministry and teachings of Jesus Christ. One piece portrays the account of Christ ministering to children found in 3 Nephi 17, while another depicts the New Testament account of the resurrected Savior appearing to Mary Magdalene.
Installation required careful coordination and planning. For several days, crews meticulously placed the panels to ensure the delicate pieces were installed safely and precisely.

The artwork adds another meaningful visual element to Temple Square, helping visitors reflect on the ministry and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Scaffolding and Crane Removed
The scaffolding surrounding the Salt Lake Temple has now been entirely removed. The process took several weeks to complete, but the historic structure’s facade is once again visible to the public.
Another renovation milestone occurred this week as crews dismantled the south tower crane, which had stood between the historic temple and the Visitors’ Center for the past 5.5 years.
During construction, the cranes helped move large stones, structural components, mechanical systems and many other loads used throughout the project.

Similar cranes could lift approximately 35,000 pounds near the base and about 10,000 pounds at the end of the jib.
Removing a crane requires careful coordination. Crews brought two additional cranes on site — one to assemble the tall crane, which would then dismantle the tower crane.
Easter Displays Now Open at Temple Square
Visitors to Temple Square can also experience new Easter displays that focus on the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The displays invite guests to reflect on the hope and joy of Easter and provide a peaceful place for visitors to learn more about the Savior.
Invitations to Come and See
