Judith Marín, appointed by President-elect José Antonio Kast, discussed with Church leaders the role of women, the family, and opportunities for institutional collaboration. Minister Marín emphasized the importance of female leadership in society.

“Women of faith must unite and not be detached from being light where darkness needs us,” she said.

Among those representing the Church was Betsabé Arteaga, an advisor for organizations in the South America South Area. She highlighted the Church’s commitment to service and Christian values.

“As women,” she said, “we strive to serve everyone, having Christ as our strength and example. We are part of a great organization distinguished by its motivation to help and love others. For God, we are all important and valuable girls, young women, and adults, with much to contribute.”

The discussion also addressed the importance of the family as the fundamental unit of society and the essential role women play in its formation and stability. Participants noted that centering life on Jesus Christ strengthens values such as dignity, respect, and social responsibility.

Church leaders also outlined the work of women’s organizations within the Church, which focus on spiritual development, service, and leadership.

Other topics of discussion included interreligious cooperation, the promotion of freedom, strengthening the role of women in Chilean society, and potential joint initiatives aligned with President-elect Kast’s vision.
